I discovered bicycling like so many others – with my first bike on Christmas morning. My love for working on bikes quickly followed and I spent most of my childhood taking apart bikes and then putting them back together. My first formal instruction in bike assembly and repair began when I started working at the local bike shop during the holidays. Around that same time, I began BMX racing and since then have competed in a variety of bicycling events ranging from riding in half-pipe contest to competing in the Ironman triathlon. To this day, I still enjoy fixing bikes almost as much as riding them.
I am equally passionate about bike safety. Two years ago, I organized a school-wide bike rally during Health & Safety Week at El Camino Creek Elementary School. Educating bike riders of all ages about the importance of proper equipment, road safety and regular bike maintenance is important to me.
Professionally, I spent over 14 years in the field as a paramedic, including three years as a flight medic for Mercy Air. One of the many benefits of my job was that it gave me ample free time to ride and fix bikes. I started Bike Medic Plus in 2011 and have enjoyed watching my business grow every year since. My clients appreciate the convenience of on-site repair and the superior level of quality that I personally guarantee.
I currently live in South Carlsbad with my wife and two children. When not fixing bikes, you can find me in the bike lane or on the local trails.
